Know your product

Mullet lives on sea shores, as well as in ports and canals. It is known for its soft and thick lips. Its sides are striped gray; its back is gray-blue, light gray, or light green depending on its environment. Its stomach is white. Mullet flesh is very white, thick and firm, tender and soft, and rich in vitamin B6 and omega-3.

How to buy

Favor Mullets fished in clean waters: if they come from polluted waters, they can have very bad taste. They must be firm, with gleaming scales, and prominent red shiny eyes.
