Raspberries

As the legend goes, the nursemaid of Zeus picked him white raspberries to make him stop crying when he was a child. He scratched her when she gave them to him and her blood spread over the fruit, giving it a red color.
Accordingly, there are many varieties, and Raspberry has many colors: white, orange, yellow, black (different from blackberries) or even amber. But it is the pink raspberry that is the most popular around the world.

Pick firm, pulpy and generous looking raspberries. They mustn’t be squeezed.

Raspberries go bad quickly: You can store them in the fridge for only a few days and they need to be kept away from sunlight; do not wash them, but dip them delicately into warm water. However, raspberries freeze very well.

Raspberries are enjoyed with sugar and cream. You can also use the fruit in pies or even as a side to salty dishes.
